by taking medications and making healthy changes in habits
such as diet and exercise.

treatment and management of coronary risk factors such as
smoking, high blood pressure, cholesterol, physical inactivity,
obesity and diabetes and on the use of diagnostic tests

(CT) scans, echocardiograms and nuclear imaging.
In addition to being board certified in cardiology, Dr.
Shalek is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
He is active in the medical community as a member of the
American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology
and is a frequent lecturer to both physician and patient
groups on heart attack prevention and the diagnosis and
management of heart problems.
