Rad Nair, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Nair has been with Legacy Heart Center since completing his Fellowship in Cardiology at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans in 2001.
In his practice Dr. Nair focuses on non-invasive cardiology and is particularly interested in the use of nuclear cardiology and echocardiograms to diagnose and treat heart disease. Nuclear cardiology involves the use of radioactive compounds to develop images of the heart while echocardiography uses high frequency sound waves. Both are extremely effective in the early detection of heart disease and in determining the extent of heart damage following a heart attack.
Dr. Nair is board certified in Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography and is certified as a Diplomate in Nuclear Cardiology by the Certification Board for Nuclear Cardiology.
Also board certified in Cardiology, Dr. Nair received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Medical College Trivandrum in India where he also completed his internship and a residency in internal medicine.
He also completed his residency in internal medicine at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee and Louisiana State University in Lafayette, Louisiana. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
He is the co-author of an article that appeared in the July 2002 issue of CHEST: The Cardiopulmonary and Critical Care Journal entitled ECG Discrimination between Right and Left Circumflex Coronary Arterial Occlusion in Patients with Acute Inferior Myocardial Infarction.
Dr. Nair resides in Plano. He is married and has two children.
