Sahil Bakshi, D.O.

Sahil Bakshi, D.O., joined Legacy Heart Center in 2005 after receiving his Fellowship in Cardiology from the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dr. Bakshi, who is fluent in Hindi, has a special interest in diagnostic catheterization, transesophageal & transthoracic echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, peripheral vascular medicine and peripheral vascular imaging and is the author of several research studies on vascular disease and heart failure.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians, the Louisiana State Medical Society and is a founding member of the Society of Cardiovascular CT.

While completing his Fellowship in Cardiology at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation, he was named Chief Cardiology Fellow in 2004-2005 and served on the Medical Education Curriculum Committee. He also served on the Book Review Committee for the Doody Publishing House and was given the Best Case Presentation award at the American College of Chest Physicians Annual Meeting in 2003.

He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and his D.O. degree from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was on the Dean’s Honor Roll and graduated first in his class.

As an undergraduate at the University of Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Dr. Bakshi was active in the Asian American community and served as Asian American Student Association President and received the Outstanding Asian American Award. He continues to remain active in the community.

Dr. Bakshi is married and resides in Plano, Texas.
